Our charity partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support

Somerfield's charity partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support commenced on 1st March 2007 and will continue for almost two years until December 2008. Macmillan Cancer Support is a national charity that carries out fantastic work to support people affected by cancer and their families in the local communities surrounding Somerfield stores. With our help they will be able to provide more services and reach more people.

Thanks to incredible support from colleagues and customers, we have already reached a 'Macmillion', raising over £1 million in just 10 months.

We are very proud to have raised so much money for Macmillan Cancer Support in such a short period of time. It is very important to both our colleagues and customers to be able to raise money for a cause that they know will make a difference in their local communities and we are looking forward to another fun packed fundraising calendar for 2008!

We are extremely grateful to Somerfield colleagues and customers for their tremendous support over the year. The money raised will help Macmillan with a number of its key services all over the UK, including information and counselling centres, specialist Macmillan medical staff including Macmillan nurses, grants for people with cancer who are in financial difficulty and the Cancerline which provides emotional support for those affected by cancer.
