This year, Somerfield will be supporting Macmillan with its third Big Picnic (17th June - 14th July). Click here to register your picnic and head into your local Somerfield where we have tons of sales promotions that will raise even more money for Macmillan.

You've doubled the Macmillion

Two years ago Somerfield chose Macmillan Cancer Support as its Charity Partner. In that time, with the help of store colleagues and customers, we have raised just over £2 million for people affected by cancer.

More than two million people are living with cancer in the UK and Macmillan provides vital support to those affected but it is currently only able to reach half the people who need its help.

This is why Somerfield has announced that it will continue to support Macmillan throughout 2009 to help the charity in its ambition to reach everyone affected by cancer by 2010.

We are extremely grateful to Somerfield colleagues and customers for their continued tremendous support. The money raised will help Macmillan with a number of its key services all over the UK, including information and counselling centres, specialist Macmillan medical staff including Macmillan nurses, grants for people with cancer who are in financial difficulty and the Cancerline which provides emotional support for those affected by cancer.
